Mold is caused by a fungus that thrives in humid and hot environments. It can easily grow by itself in places with very little luminosity and ventilation. If you leave in places with high levels of humidity, you’re probably going to have some issues with mold formation, so here are some ways to get it removed fast and even in some cases prevent it from forming and growing.
#1 – Removing it from your closet
A good way to eliminate mold from your closet, where you keep your clothes, is to clean the walls of your closet with sodium bicarbonate and a wet sponge. Make sure you remove all your clothes first, apply the chemical, and then wait for it to dry completely.
#2 – Removing it from your bathroom
Your bathroom should be one of the most hygienic and clean places in your home, and having mold all over it is definitely disturbing for most people. Try a combination of regular water and sanitary water; their proportions should be the same. By scrubbing your walls with this mixture, you should be able to remove most, if not all, of it. White vinegar is great to prevent mold formation in your bathroom.
#3 – Removing it from your bed
The last thing you want is, having mold all over your bed, carpets, and couches. Once again, sodium bicarbonate is a great solution to solve this problem. Let the chemical on the surface of your bed for no more than 10 minutes, and then use a vacuum cleaner to remove it. Don’t brush it off; it will damage your mattress.
#4 – Removing its smell
Mold has a very characteristic smell, and it’s pretty safe to say that most people don’t love it… Using white vinegar and Lysoform spray are two great ways of making sure that the smell in your home is removed.
At the end of it, if none of these simple strategies work, you may be forced to hire a firm that specializes in mold removal, but give these a go first. We may have just saved you a couple of thousand dollars!
